Baer nabs second All-America honor
Senior tabbed to third team by IWLCA
BALTIMOREWESTMINSTER, Md. – Brittany Baer (Manchester, Md./Westminster), a senior on the McDaniel women's lacrosse team, has been named a third-team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), released on Wednesday.
One day after being named to a third-team All-American by womenslacrosse.com, Baer made it two All-America accolades in two days to become the first player honored by the coaches association on the national level since 1989.
An attacker, Baer earned her first national honor after a second straight selection to the IWLCA All-Metro Region first team last week. She was tabbed first-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) for the second consecutive season.
Baer, led the Green Terror (10-6, 4-5 CC) with a CC-high 55 goals and 64 points. She added a program-record 64 draw controls to go with 29 ground balls and a team-best 28 caused turnovers.
With the fourth of her six tallies against Washington (Md.) on Apr. 13, Baer became the program's all-time leading scorer. She finished the season with 194 career goals – 16 more than Sandi Stevens scored between 1986 and 1989.
