Koopman finishes second

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Morgan Koopman (Finksburg, Md./McDonogh) carded matching rounds of 84 to lead McDaniel to a second-place finish at the Gettysburg Spring Invitational in women's golf action on Saturday and Sunday.

Koopman posted a combined score of 168 to finish second overall in the field of 40 golfers. As a team, the Green Terror fired a two-round score of 736, following up a Saturday round of 371 with a Sunday score of 365. Gettysburg won the event with a 701 (349-352) behind individual champion Kara McNulty, who posted a score of 160 (78-82).

Alise McNutt (Flourtown, Pa./Mount St. Joseph) finished ninth in the field with a score of 183, firing a 91 on Sunday after posting a score of 92 in the first round.

Liz Moir (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) placed 14th overall with a score of 192. She followed up a Saturday 100 with a round of 92 on Sunday.

Katie Pass (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) was 18th with a 197, shooting a 98 in the second round after a first-round 99.

Bridget McLaughlin (Langhorne, Pa./Wyoming Seminary Upper) finished 20th with a score of 198. She posted a round of 96 in the opening 18 before registering a score of 102 on Sunday.

McDaniel returns to action in a trimatch with Gettysburg and Susquehanna on Saturday, Apr. 20.
