Koopman finishes 13th

MONTPELIER, Va. – Morgan Koopman (Finksburg, Md./McDonogh) posted a season-low score of 79 in the second round to finish with a two-day score of 166 and lead McDaniel to a fifth-place finish at the Randolph-Macon Invitational in women's golf action on Saturday and Sunday.

As a team, the Green Terror improved 14 strokes from Saturday to Sunday with a round of 351 to finish with a two-day score of 716. Methodist won the event, which had nine team complete both rounds, with a score of 630 (312-318). Centennial Conference-foe Gettysgburg was fourth with a score of 705 (356-349) behind Division I Delaware State (645) and Division II Kutztown (674).

Koopman fired a first-round score of 87 before improving eight shots on Sunday to finish 13th overall.

Alise McNutt (Flourtown, Pa./Mount St. Joseph) matched Koopman with a team-low round of 87 on Saturday before carding a score of 85 in the second round to finish 25th overall with a score of 172.

Liz Moir (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) carded an opening-round score of 98 before posting a round of 92 on Sunday to finish with a score of 190 and place 44th.

Katie Pass (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) finished 48th overall with a round of 191, improving from a round of 96 on Saturday to a score of 95 on Sunday.

Bridget McLaughlin (Langhorne, Pa./Wyoming Seminary Upper) carded a round of 95 on Saturday before posting a round of 98 on Sunday to finish 51st overall with a score of 193.

McDaniel returns to action at its own spring invitational at The Bridges Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday. Tee time is 8:30 a.m. both days.
