Final tuning

McDaniel finishes second at Stevenson Invitational in final event before championship

HAMPSTEAD, Md. – Jennie Weiner (Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) carded a round of 89 to lead McDaniel to a second-place finish at the Stevenson Spring Invitational at Piney Branch Golf Club in women's golf action on Monday.

Playing the same course it will be hosting the Centennial Conference championship on come Saturday and Sunday, the Green Terror combined to shoot a round of 369, finishing six shots behind conference-foe Gettysburg.

The Bullets had the top two finishers individually in Caroline Nathan (85) and Kara McNulty (86).

Weiner's round of 89 placed her third overall while teammates Morgan Koopman (Finksburg, Md./McDonogh) and Katherine Restrepo (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Koopman posted a score of 90 while Restrepo finished with a round of 93.

Jennipher Bencriscutto (Oro Valley, Ariz./Ironwood Ridge) rounded out the McDaniel competitors, tied for seventh with a round of 97.

Tee time for the conference championship is set for 12:30 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
