McDaniel matches Gettysburg, finishes second on cards

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Morgan Koopman (Finksburg, Md./McDonogh) finished second overall with a round of 82 to lead McDaniel to a second-place showing at the Gettysburg Spring Invitational at the Hanover Country Club in women's golf action on Sunday.

The Green Terror and Bullets both had their four players combine to shoot a total of 366. Gettysburg was awarded the team trophy when the cards were matched. The Bullets edged McDaniel, combining for a 26 on the par-5 fourth compared to the Green Terror's 27.

Koopman finished one stroke behind individual medalist Xiner Ma from Dickinson.

Jennipher Bencriscutto (Oro Valley, Ariz./Ironwood Ridge) fired her low round of the spring, carding a 92 to place eighth.

Katherine Restrepo (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) placed ninth with a score of 93 while Jennie Weiner (Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) was 10th with her round of 95.

The Green Terror returns to action at the Stevenson Invitational at Piney Branch Golf Club on Monday in its final tuneup before the Centennial Conference Championship on the same course five days later. Tee time on Monday is 12 p.m.
