Blackmon joined the Green Terror staff in 2013 with more than 14 years of coaching experience, coaching and mentoring several student-athletes who have played and coached at the college level themselves.
Blackmon draws his coaching skills from his own experience as a Division I basketball player at Howard in Washington, D.C., and from his family - many of whom have played and coached in college and the NBA. His strengths are in developing player skills and motivating players to succeed beyond the court.
When not playing and coaching basketball, Blackmon likes to road and mountain bike. Last year, he participated in the Climate Ride, a charity bicycle ride from New York City to Washington, D.C.
Blackmon helped guide the team to a 21-7 record in his first year on the bench before the team finished the regular season with a 24-3 mark in 2014-15. The Green Terror earned the top seed in the Centennial Conference tournament and an NCAA Div. III tournament appearance. He also helped to coach and mentor the conference player of the year and scholar-athlete of the year.
Blackmon lives in Halethorpe, Md., with his wife and their seven-year-old daughter.
