McDaniel in ECAC field

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel will host Delaware Valley for the first round of the 2014 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South women's basketball tournament on Wednesday. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

The Green Terror (19-6) earned the No. 2 seed and will take on the seventh-seeded Aggies (15-11) in the quarterfinals of the eight-team tournament. McDaniel is making its first ECAC appearance since 2006.

The winner of Wednesday's game will meet the winner of the matchup between No. 3 St. Vincent (18-9) and No. 6 Stevenson (14-13) in one of Saturday's semifinals. The other semifinal will pit the winners of No. 1 Catholic (19-6) and No. 8 Neumann (15-10) and No. 4 Washington & Jefferson (20-8) and No. 5 Marymount (17-10). Matchups will take place at the site of the highest remaining seed.

The championship game will take place between the two semifinal winners on Sunday.

McDaniel earns the postseason berth after reaching the Centennial Conference semifinals.

Steph Perez (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) leads the team in scoring (12.3 ppg) and 3-pointers (60) while ranking third in field-goal percentage (.384).

Emma Wingerd (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) leads the team in rebounding (8.3 rpg) and is third in scoring (9.5 ppg).

Lindsey Nichols (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) is second on the team in scoring (9.7 ppg) and ranks second in 3-pointers (31) and fourth in steals (34).

Allie Eader (Ijamsville, Md./Linganore) paces the squad with 62 assists and ranks third with 35 steals.

Brittney Davis (Laurel, Md./St. Vinent Pallotti) is second on the team in assists (59) and seconds in steals (38).
