WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel scored 30 of the first half's final 37 points to open up a 39-15 lead en route to a 73-32 victory over Wesley in non-conference women's basketball action on Saturday.

Codi McMaster (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) led the Green Terror (5-4) with 13 points and six rebounds off the bench to go with three assists and three steals. Emma Wingerd (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) also reached double figures with 12 points.

Jazmine Miller led the Wolverines (2-7) with 10 points. Heather Fuller grabbed a game-high 18 rebounds.

Wingerd and Haley Thomas traded baskets over the game's first 2:14 before a Steph Perez (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) layup sparked a 7-0 burst to put McDaniel in front for good.

Shelby Taylor (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) capped the 84-second spurt with a three-point play.

Three straight Wesley baskets cut the deficit to 9-8 with 13:34 on the clock before Alyssa March (Fallston, Md./Fallston) halted a 3-minute, 12-second scoring drought, igniting a 10-0 run to put the Green Terror in front 19-8 with 9:48 remaining in the first half.

A Miller layup and Thomas 3-pointer trimmed the deficit to six just 47 seconds later before a McMaster three-point play with 8:10 remaining and Rachael Rybak (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin) triple with 7:25 on the clock started a 20-2 run to close the half.

McMaster, Perez and Rybak each had five points during the stretch while Wingerd registered four.

Two Perez free throws and a Wingerd jumper stretched the lead to 43-15 before Fuller hit a layup with 15:47 remaining to snap a scoreless stretch of 9 minutes, 4 seconds.

A Miller jumper closed the gap to 47-26 with 11:34 showing but a Brittney Davis (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) 3-ppinter sparked another 11-0 burst to push the lead to 32 with 8:10 on the clock.

The Wolverines got no closer than 30 the rest of the way.

Perez finished with nine points for the Green Terror, who got points from 14 of its 15 players.

Nikki Piper (Clarksville, Md./River Hill) grabbed a team-high seven rebounds while Taylor and March pulled down six each.

McDaniel returns to action at Muhlenberg on Saturday, Jan. 5. Game time is 2 p.m.
