THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel plated a pair of runs in the fifth inning and held off Hamilton for a 3-2 win.

THE LEADERS
Megan Horsey (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) led the Green Terror with a 2-for-3 day at the plate and scored a run.
Madison Froemel (Suffolk, Va./Kings Fork) had a two-run single in the fifth inning.

FOR THE FOES
• Ashleah Yzaguirre went 3-for-3 to lead the Contentials.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Alicia Wagner (Bradenton, Fla./Lakewood Ranch) drew a walk to lead off the second inning before moving to second on a wild pitch. A Haley Michael (Oldsmar, Fla./East Lake0 singled down the left-field line with one out to score Wagner from third for a 1-0 lead.
• Ashleah Yzaguirre dropped a single into right field to lead off the fourth before stealing second. She moved to third on an infield single before scoring on a ball just inside the right-field line to tie the game.
Kristina Shank (Mardela Springs, Md./Mardela) walked to lead off the fifth before Megan Horsey beat out a bunt single to put two runners on. After a Megan Coyle (Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gorman) walk loaded the bases. With two outs, Madison Froemel singled up the middle for a 3-1 lead.
• With Emily Fraser on second base, a two-out error cut the deficit to 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Hamilton got the tying run to third base with two outs in the seventh inning but Fiona Johnson (Derwood, Md./Magruder) got a lineout to cap her fourth win of the season.

NEXT UP
McDaniel concludes its 10-game Florida trip against Rutgers-Camden and Macalester on Friday. The first game of the day is at 9:30 a.m.
