KISSIMMEE, Fla. – McDaniel won the opener in the bottom of the seventh and carried that momentum to a sweep at the Sunkissed Classic in softball action on Monday.

The Green Terror (4-6) defeated NYU 6-5 before completing the sweep with a 7-4 win over Acardia.

Morgan Scardina (Pasadena, Md./Seton Keough) led McDaniel with four hits on the afternoon, including three hits and the game-winner in game one.

Tied with the Violets (2-2) at 5-all, Payton Lewis (Valrico, Fla./Durant) drew a walk to lead off the bottom of the seventh.

Alicia Wagner (Bradenton, Fla./Lakewood Ranch) was hit by a pitch before Haley Michael (Oldsmar, Fla./East Lake) pushed a perfect bunt or a base hit to load the bases with no outs.

With one out, Scardina dropped a ball into shallow right field to score Lewis with the game-winning run.

Diana King led off the first with a walk before stealing second and taking third on a sacrifice bunt. She then scored on a Caroline Saccacio sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead.

Maryanna Lynch (Newark, Del./Archmere Academy) led off the bottom of the frame with a double off the fence in the left-field corner.

Tayler Hishon (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) followed with a double of her own to tie the game.

After three walks loaded the bases with two outs in the second, King rapped a two-run single for a 3-1 lead.

Michaela Persinger (Emmitsburg, Md./Cotoctin) roped a one-out double through the right side before Lynch drew a two-out walk.

Hishon was hit by a pitch to load the bases before a throwing error allowed Persinger and Lynch to both score and tie the game once again.

NYU plated single runs in the third and fourth innings before Lewis and Wagner led off the home fifth with back-to-back singles.

Persinger was hit by a pitch to load the bases before Scardina drove a ball through the left side to plate the tying runs.

Persinger and Tori Wilkins (Lutz, Fla./Land O'Lakes) each had two hits. Fiona Johnson (Derwood, Md./Magruder) pitched five innings in relief, striking out three and allowing two hits for the win.

Hishon blasted a one-out 1-1 pitch over the left-field fence in the top of the first inning against the Knights (1-4) to stake the Green Terror to a 1-0 lead.

Persinger walked with one out in the second before taking second on a passed ball and scoring on a Megan Coyle (Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gorman) single.

Amanda Hess doubled to lead off the third before scoring on a Nicole Iasiello single with one out.

Wilkins led off the top of the fifth with a double before scoring on a Wagner single to left with one out.

A Carly Deichman (Easton, Pa./Freedom) two-run home run stretched the lead to 5-1.

Three walks and singles from Scardina and Wilkins pushed the lead to 7-1.

Three singles, including a RBI knock up the middle by Courtney Skolka made it a 7-2 game in the bottom of the fifth.

Arcadia scored two runs and loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh before Cassie Rickrode (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) got a strikeout and groundout to earn the three-inning save. Valerie Lamb (Miami Gardens, Fla./Miramar) pitched the first four innings for the win.
