Brehm named ECAC Pitcher of the Week

CENTREVILLE, Mass. – Caroline Brehm (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford), a junior on the McDaniel softball team, has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Co-Pitcher of the Week for the week of Apr. 7-13.

Brehm was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

Brehm led the Green Terror (18-10, 9-3 CC) to a 5-1 week, recording 55 strikeouts in 33 innings in the circle. She went 5-0 with a 0.64 ERA. She limited opponents to a .136 batting average. In four CC games on Friday and Saturday, she twirled a pair of shutouts. On Friday, she allowed just one baserunner in 10-1, five-inning victory over Gettysburg, fanning 10 batters. On Saturday, she struck out 28 Ursinus batters, including 16 in game two.

For the season, she is 16-7 in the circle with a 1.51 ERA, striking out 214 in 148 2/3 innings.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Bridgewater on Friday. The first game of the doubleheader begins at 1:30 p.m.
