LANCASTER, Pa. – Caroline Brehm (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford), a sophomore on the McDaniel softball team, and Tracy Davis (Christiansburg, Va./Christiansburg), a senior, have been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for the week of Mar. 11-17.

For Brehm, it marks the second time this season she has earned the pitching honor. It is Davis' first honor as Player of the Week. The Green Terror (6-4) went 4-0 over the last week.

Brehm went 4-0 in the circle on the week, not allowing a run. She finished the week with 48 strikeouts that included setting a new program record for strikeouts in a career. With her second strikeout in game two against Penn State-Harrisburg on Tuesday – a strikeout looking to end the third inning – she passed Sam Abrams '04 with her 427th career K. Brehm finished the week with three complete-game shutouts, allowing just nine hits and four walks in 25 1/3 innings. Her 48 strikeouts on the week, which included 16 in a 5-0 win over Endicott and 14 in a 1-0 win over Otterbein to open McDaniel's trip to the Rebel Spring Games, gives her 463 in her career.

Davis hit .615 to lead McDaniel offensively. She went 8-for-13 in the four games, adding a pair of doubles to slug .769 on the week. She also had three runs scored and three RBIs and was perfect in her 29 fielding opportunities with 28 put outs and an assist.

McDaniel returns to action against Rowan and Augsburg at the Rebel Spring Games on Wednesday. The game against Rowan begins at 9 a.m. with the Augsburg game to follow at 11 a.m.
