Caroline Brehm and Jordan Beans 2012 David Sinclair/McDaniel College

LANCASTER, Pa. – Jordan Beans (Hanover, Pa./Hanover), a senior on the McDaniel softball team, and Caroline Brehm (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford), a freshman, have been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for the week of Apr. 30-May 6.

It marks the first time this season Beans and fourth time this season Brehm has earned the honor.

Beans led the Green Terror (27-12) to its sixth CC championship at the plate, hitting .455 in the three tournament games. She rapped out five hits, including two doubles and a home run to slug .909 on the weekend. She added seven RBIs and three runs scored. Among her hits was a three-run shot in the championship game that keyed the 9-0 victory over Washington.

Brehm led McDaniel to its first conference title since 2004, pitching all three games with a pair of shutouts. She struck out 23 and allowed just four hits on the weekend.

McDaniel returns to action in NCAA regional play at Christopher Newport. The Green Terror takes on No. 1 Emory in the tournament's first round on Thursday at 10 a.m.
