Heilman places 62nd at regionals

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Jim Heilman (Lutherville, Md./Baltimore Lutheran) finished 62nd to lead McDaniel to a 25th-place finish at the 2016 NCAA Div. III Mideast men's cross country regional championship on Saturday.

Time and Score:

  • The Green Terror finished 25th at the meet with 713 points. A total of 351 runners competed at the 8,000-meter distance. Johns Hopkins won the 52-team championship meet on the DeSales course with 64 points, edging Haverford by one points.

Head of the Class:

  • Jim Heilman turned in a time of 26:32 to finish 65th.

  • Gavin Gibson (Newark, Del./Sanford) finished 73rd (26:37)
  • Will Greene (Westminster, Md./Delone Catholic) finished 117th (27:11)

  • Alex Panagakos (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) finished 272nd (29:50)
  • Kyle Crouse (Keymar, Md./Francis Scott Key) finished 286th (30:27)
  • Cyrus Daroowalla (Westminster, Md./Westminster) finished 296th (31:03)
