Jones finishes 132nd

BIG SPRING, Pa. – Chris Jones (Centreville, Va./Centreville) finished 132nd overall to lead McDaniel to an 38th-place finish at the 2012 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional in men's cross country action on Saturday.

The Green Terror finished with 1,076 points. Centennial Conference-foe Haverford won the championship with 63 points.

Jones finished the 8,000-meter race with a time of 28:09.7 to lead his team as a freshman.

Peter Merkel (Ellicott City, Md./Homeschool) crossed 166th in a time of 28:37.9. It was his best time on the Big Spring High School course by 46 seconds.

Calvin Ball (Westminster, Md./Westminster) was 230th in a time of 29:39.0 while Graham Miles (Hartford, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) was 277th in a time of 30:46.1.

Colin LaPenta (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) was 301st (31:47.4) and Jason Stein (Potomac, Md./Thomas S. Wooten) was 333rd (35:04.3).
