Kelvey paces Green Terror with 22nd-place showing
GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Rob Kelvey (Westminster, Md./Westminster) finished 22nd overall in a time of 28:01.06 to lead McDaniel to ninth-place finish in the 2009 Centennial Conference men's cross country championship hosted by Gettysburg on Saturday.
The Green Terror finished with 241 points. Dickinson won the meet for the second straight year with a record 16 points, nearly sweeping the top five spots. Only a fifth-place finish by Haverford's Anders Hulleberg broke up the sweep, leading the Fords to second place with 46 points.
Greg Leak repeated as individual champion, finishing the 8,000-meter course in a time of 26:30.71.
Kevin Bowman (Westminster, Md./Brunswick) crossed 59th for McDaniel, finishing in a time of 29:57.50.
Ron Shriver (Westminster, Md./Francis Scott Key) was 74th (31:00.83) while Torin Lehmann (Sitka, Alaska/Sitka) and C.J. Naper (New Windsor, Md./South Carroll) finished 78th (31:15.77) and 83rd (31:25.33), respectively.
Matt Hale (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon) crossed 89th (31:39.61) while Graham Miles (Hartford, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) rounded out the Green Terror competitors in 96th (33:45.50).
McDaniel concludes the season at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional meet hosted by Lehigh on Nov. 14.
