Emerson wins shot put

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – For the second day in a row, Billy Emerson (Germantown, Md./Watkins Mill) won the shot put, leading McDaniel at the Battleground Relays hosted by Mary Washington on Saturday.

Head of the Class: The following athletes won an event at the meet:

Standard Bearer: The following athletes hit Centennial Conference-qualifying marks at the meet:

  • Jamie Mintz (Baltimore, Md./Benjamin Franklin): 100, finishing seventh with a mark of 12.62 seconds. His qualifier came in the prelims, qualifying seventh with a time of 12.28 seconds.
  • Aaron Ferguson (Greenbelt, Md./Wheaton): 100, finishing 10th with a time of 12.43 seconds.
  • Caleb White (Glen Burnie, Md./Baltimore City College): 400 hurdles, finishing seventh with a time of 1:07.06.
  • Alex Panagakos (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll): 400, finishing fourth with a time of 52.96 seconds.
  • Kai Samuels (Pasadena, Md./Northeast): 400, finishing fifth with a time of 53.48 seconds.
  • Miky Kisi (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley): 400, finishing sixth with a time of 54.24 seconds.
  • Billy Emerson: shot put, finishing first with a mark of 13.93 meters; discus, finishing second with a mark of 40.37 meters.
  • Taylor Wagner (Dunkirk, Md./Northern): shot put, finishing third with a mark of 13.24 meters.
  • JR Yankowski (Sykesville, Md./Century): discus, finishing ninth with a mark of 37.78 meters.
