McDaniel women fifth, men eighth at Goucher
TOWSON, Md. – Heidi Davidhizar won the 100 hurdles to lead McDaniel to a fifth-place finish at the Goucher Invitational in women’s outdoor track and field action on Saturday.
The Green Terror women tallied 54 points while the men tallied 40
to finish eighth. York (Pa.) won the team title on both sides,
recording 180 points on the women’s side and 214.5 on the
men’s side.
Davidhizar finished the 100 hurdles in 16.66 seconds to notch one
of two McDaniel victories. Jennifer Garnett (Los Altos,
Calif./Homestead) won the 400 with a time of
1:01.64.
Gernett added a third-place finish in the 200 (28.35) while
Roxanne Fleischer (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill)
was third in the 1,500 (5:18.15) and fourth in the 5,000
(19:46.31).
Rob Kelvey (Westminster, Md./Westminster) led the
men with a second-place showing in the 1,500, crossing in a time of
4:16.02.
C.J. Naper (New Windsor, Md./South Carroll)
finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of
10:36.54. Juris Eyler (Middletown, Md./Middletown)
notched the Green Terror’s other top-three finish with a
third-place showing in the 400 (52.40).
The Green Terror returns to action at the Bucknell Distance
Festival on Friday.
