Emerson finishes eighth in shot

FAIRFAX, Va. – Billy Emerson (Germantown, Md./Watkins Mill) finished eighth overall in the shot put to lead McDaniel at the Father Diamond Invitational hosted by George Mason in men's indoor track and field action on Saturday.

Scoring:

  • There was no team score for the non-Division I teams in the field.

Standard Bearer: The following athletes hit Centennial Conference-qualifying marks at the meet:

  • Billy Emerson: shot put, finishing eighth with a mark of 13.94 meters.
  • Caleb White (Glen Burnie, Md./Baltimore City College): 60 hurdles, finishing 14th with a time of 9.37 seconds; 200, finishing 17th with a time of 24.17 seconds.
  • Alex Panagakos (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll: 400, finishing 14th with a time of 54.11 seconds.

Top 10 Worthy: The following athletes achieved a mark that ranks in the program's all-time top 10:

  • Michael Gallagher (Elko, Nev./Elko) now ranks ninth in the 500, finishing 17th with a time of 1:11.97.
