Giles forces tiebreaker at No. 1

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Johns Hopkins won a pair of 6-0, 6-0 matches in singles to key a 9-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis action on Thursday.

Will Giles (LaVale, Md./Bishop Walsh) led the Green Terror (3-8, 0-4 CC), forcing a tiebreaker in the first set at No. 1 singles. Robby Simon prevailed 7-1 in the tiebreaker to win the set 7-5 before winning in straight sets, 6-2.

Jack Hogan and Colin Muraika completed 2-0 days for the Blue Jays (6-1, 2-0 CC) with 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively, to bring the match to decision.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Swarthmore on Friday. The match was originally scheduled to take place at Swarthmore on Saturday but was moved due to the forecast. Match time will be 4 p.m.
