WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel won four of the six singles matches to capture a 5-4 victory over Hood in non-conference men's tennis action on Monday.

Tate Myers (East Berlin, Pa./Bermudian Springs) was one of two double winners for the Green Terror (3-10), joining Will Giles (LaVale, Md./Bishop Walsh) for an 8-6 win at second doubles. Myers then rallied to win No. 4 singles in three sets. After dropping the first set 6-1, Myers won the next two by identical 6-2 scores. Giles was a 7-5, 7-5 winner at first singles.

Tanner Ruths won twice for the Blazers (0-9), taking one of the other three-set singles matches. He won the opening set at fifth singles 6-3 before falling 6-4 but rallied for a 6-1 victory. He and Alex Beaumont won third doubles, 8-2.

Corey Glocker (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) captured a 6-1, 6-2 victory at second singles.

The match hinged on sixth singles. Beaumont captured a 6-1 victory in the first set before Aidan Finnerty (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) won the second set for McDaniel 7-5 and forced a deciding set. Due to impending darkness, the duo played a super-tiebreaker and Finnerty prevailed, 10-3.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Dickinson on Tuesday. Match time is 4 p.m.
