Langsdale wins twice

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Randolph-Macon won the top four flights of singles, including two in tiebreakers, to defeat McDaniel 5-4 in non-conference men's tennis action on Monday.

Matthew Langsdle (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) led the Green Terror (2-10) with a 2-0 day, winning two close battles. He teamed with Daniel Xinis (Owings, Md./Northern) for a 9-7 win at second doubles before winning sixth singles, 7-6, 7-5.

Connor Hoerr and Michael Baxter secured the win for the Yellow Jackets (7-11), winning at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Hoerr took the victory in the top spot with a 7-4 tiebreaker in the second set after a 6-3 opening set victory. Baxter won his second-set tiebreaker 7-5 after a 6-3 first-set win.

Ryan Salomon (Bethesda, Md./The Siena) added a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles for McDaniel.

Brian Kron (Upperco, Md./North Carroll) and Seth McFall (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) rounded out the wins for the hosts with an 8-4 victory at No. 1 doubles.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Swarthmore on Wednesday. Match time is 4 p.m.
