WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel swept doubles play to defeat Penn State-Harrisburg 8-1 in non-conference men's tennis action on Thursday.

Brian Kron (Upperco, Md./North Carroll) led the Green Terror (6-6) with a straight-set 6-0, 6-0 victory at second singles to cap his 2-0 day.

Joshua Cartmill and Evgeny Maigullin recorded the lone win for the Lions (7-4), taking first doubles, 8-2.

Kron teamed with Matthew Langsdale (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) for an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles. Langsdale capped his 2-0 day with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at fifth singles.

Daniel Xinis (Owings, Md./Northern) and Seth McFall (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) opened their 2-0 days with an 8-1 win at third doubles.

McFall took third singles, 6-4, 6-3.

Xinis won a pro-set sixth-singles set 9-8 by taking the tiebreaker 7-5 in the dark.

Steve French (New Windsor, Md./Francis Scott Key) won first singles 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 and Chad Palman (Montgomery Village, Md./Gaithersburg) took No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-3.

The Green Terror returns to action at Ursinus on Saturday, Apr. 14. Match time is 1 p.m.
