McFall takes third singles

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – No. 21 Swarthmore swept doubles play en route to an 8-1 Centennial Conference (CC) men's tennis victory over McDaniel on Tuesday.

Seth McFall (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) led the Green Terror (5-6, 0-5 CC) with a win by retirement at third singles after taking the first set, 7-6.

Max Sacks, Malik Mubeen and Sam Clark paced the Garnet (9-7, 3-1 CC) with 2-0 outings.

Sacks teamed with Maxwell Bressman for an 8-6 win at first doubles while Mubeen and James Wieler were 8-1 winners at No. 2 doubles. Clark partnered with Preston Poon to round out the three doubles wins, taking third doubles, 8-2.

Sacks added a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles while Mubeen won second singles, 6-3, 6-4.

Clark (No. 5) joined Carl DeFranco (No. 4) and Harrison Lands (No. 6) as 6-0, 6-0 winners in singles.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Penn State-Harrsiburg on Thursday. Match time is 3:30 p.m.
