Charging ahead

McDaniel sweeps Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa. – Justin Ward (Sykesville, Md./Century) was one of three McDaniel players to record a two-win day without dropping a game, leading his team to a 9-0 victory over Lancaster Bible in non-conference men's tennis action on Monday.

The Green Terror (6-8) swept doubles play before winning all six singles matches in straight sets.

Brandon Klinger led the Chargers (0-6) with four games won – all at No. 3 singles, dropping a 6-2, 6-2 match to Steve French (New Windsor, Md./Francis Scott Key).

Ward partnered with French to record an 8-0 win at second doubles before taking his No. 2 singles match, 6-0, 6-0.

Brian Kron (Upperco, Md./North Carroll) and Matthew Langsdale (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) both notched perfect days. The duo teamed for an 8-0 win at third doubles before Kron was victorious 6-0, 6-0 at fourth singles and Langsdale won by the same score in the No. 6 slot.

Ben Faber (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) and Chad Palman (Montgomery Village, Md./Gaithersburg) paired for an 8-2 victory at No. 1 singles before each dropped just one game in their respective singles matches.

Faber took the top singles match 6-0, 6-1 while Palman won at No. 5, 6-1, 6-0.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Ursinus on Saturday. Match time is 11 a.m.
