Pac wins three times

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Jose Pac (Quetzaltenango, Guatemala/Inter-American) won three times lead McDaniel against Washington (Md.) in Centennial Conference (CC) men's swimming action on Saturday.

Scoring:

  • The Shoremen (5-6, 3-3 CC) defeated the Green Terror (3-6-1, 0-6 CC) by a score of 75-46.

Head of the Class: The following athletes won multiple events at the meet:

  • Individually, Jose Pac won the 200 free (1:46.90) and 200 IM (2:00.75). He was also part of the winning 400 medley relay (3:36.70).
  • Individually, Paul Van Nevel (Gaithersburg, Md./Poolesville) won the 100 backstroke (54.46 seconds). He was also part of the winning 400 medley relay (3:36.70).
  • Individually, Grayson Blanchard (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) won the 100 butterfly (53.51 seconds). He was also part of the winning 400 medley relay (3:36.70).

Striking Gold: The following athletes won a single event at the meet:

  • Adam Halmy (Shenandoah, Texas/College Park) joined Van Nevel, Blanchard and Pac to win the 400 medley relay (3:36.70).

Precious Metal: The following athletes finished second or third in an event at the meet:

  • Jose Pac finished tied for second in the 50 free (22.14 seconds).
  • Paul Van Nevel finished second in the 200 backstroke (1:58.84) and 200 IM (2:03.13).
  • Adam Halmy finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.81). He was also third in the 200 breaststroke (2:24.03).
  • Michael Brant (Wilmington, Del./Cab Calloway School of the Arts) finished second in the 200 butterfly (2:12.80).
  • Brandon Loehmer (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) finished third in the 1000 free (10:47.82) and 500 free (5:10.56).
  • Nick Villareal (Fleetwood, Pa./Berks Catholic) finished third in the 100 backstroke (58.77 seconds).
  • Grayson Blanchard finished third in the 100 free (49.85 seconds).
  • Grayson Blanchard, Nick Villareal, Adam Halmy and Brandon Loehmer combined to finish second in the 200 free relay (1:30.91).

For the Foes: The following Washington athletes won events at the meet:

  • Brendan Jones won the 1000 free (10:16.12) and 200 butterfly (2:00.51).
  • Teague Sauter won the 100 breaststroke (1:01.94).
  • Jacob Brown won the 50 free (21.70 seconds) and 100 free (48.08 seconds).
  • Andrew Feeley won the 200 backstroke (1:57.94).
  • Brett Edwards won the 200 breaststroke (2:15.76).
  • Leo Johnson won the 500 free (4:58.60).
  • Cody Weiler and Kevin Mackenzie joined Brown and Johnson to win the 200 free relay (1:28.13).
