Brooks wins three times
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Franklin & Marshall won six of the 11 events to key a 60-35 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's swimming action on Friday.
Brad Brooks (Newark, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) led the Green Terror (1-8, 0-5 CC) with three victories.
Dennis Chen paced the Diplomats (3-3, 2-1 CC) with three wins of his own, including in the 50 free (22.33 seconds) and 100 free (48.18). He was also part of the 400 free relay, which won in a pool-record time of 3:17.33. Jin Hwang, Matt Murphy and John Zipp joined him on the relay, which topped the 24-year-old mark by more than four seconds.
Brooks took first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:43.21 before adding back-to-back victories in the 100 backstroke (55.72 seconds) and 500 freestyle (4:48.96).
Stevie Hoyt (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) and Justin Allen (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) added individual wins for McDaniel. Hoyt won the 100 butterfly in a time of 54.35 while Allen took the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:01.87.
Hoyt was also second in the 50 free with a time of 23.54 seconds while Allen was second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.21.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Elizabethtown on Wednesday. Meet time is 6 p.m.
