Brooks wins three times
CARLISLE, Pa. – Dickinson won six of the first eight events to key a 119-77 Centennial Conference (CC) men's swimming victory over McDaniel on Saturday.
Brad Brooks (Newark, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) led the Green Terror (1-7, 0-4 CC) with three victories.
Chris Miles and Micah Smith each won twice for the Red Devils (6-2, 1-1 CC), including as part of the 200 medley relay, which opened the meet with a victory. The duo joined Sam Eaton and Brandon Gauthier to combine for a time of 1:39.30. Miles also won the 100 backstroke (54.04 seconds) while Smith touched first in the 50 free (22.82).
Brooks started his day with a victory in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:53.01 before touching first in the 200 IM (1:58.43). He wrapped up the day with a victory in the 500 free with a time of 5:21.76.
With Dickinson swimming as exhibition, Justin Allen (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) closed the individual part of the meet with a victory in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.60) before Brian Austin (Turlock, Calif./J.H. Pitman), Sean Kaliszak (New Freedom, Pa./Suquehannock), Thomas Simone (Silver Spring, Md./John F. Kennedy) and Jeremy Simon (Melville, N.Y./Half Hallow Hills East) combined to record a time of 1:48.85 in the 200 frees relay.
Stevie Hoyt (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) added a pair of third-place finishes in the 50 free (23.14 seconds) and 100 butterfly (56.93).
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Elizabethtown on Wednesday. Meet time is 6 p.m.
