Brooks takes down three pool records

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Dickinson won eight events as part of a 66-29 Centennial Conference (CC) men's swimming victory over McDaniel on Saturday.

Brad Brooks (Newark, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) won three times for the Green Terror (2-6, 0-4 CC), recording Harlow Pool records in all three events.

The freshman first knocked off the 1,000 free record by 0.53 seconds, recording a time of 9:38.15.

His next record-setting performance came in the 200 IM, becoming the first person to break two minutes in the event with his time of 1:58.71.

Brooks wrapped up his day with a time of 4:44.12 in the 500 freestyle, taking that mark by 1.77 seconds.

Jason Adams helped the Red Devils (5-0, 2-0 CC) remain perfect, winning three times. Individually, he won the 50 (21.50 seconds) and 100 (48.85) freestyle events. He also anchored the 200 free relay (1:31.89) to victory.

Theo Hubbard, Chris Miles and Edward Barnard all won twice. Hubbard took the 200 free (1:50.47) and 100 butterfly (53.54), individually. Miles and Barnard were part of the 200 medley relay, which won with a time of 1:42.13. Miles also won the 100 backstroke (56.65) while Barnard won the 100 breaststroke (1:01.17).

Stevie Hoyt (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) recorded a pair of second-place finishes, taking the runner-up spot in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.15 and the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.28 seconds.

Bryan Nuckles (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond-Suffolk Academy) was second in both sprints. He was just outtouched by Adams in the 50, finishing with a time of 21.95 seconds. It was déjà vu in the 100, where Nuckles finished with a time of 49.11.

Nuckles and Hoyt joined Logan Linden (Millville, Del./Indian River) and Jono Leafblad (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Twp.) to finish second in the 200 medley relay (1:44.78).

The Green Terror returns to action at Franklin & Marshall on Friday. Meet time is 6 p.m.
