Nuckles, Rogers win three times for Green Terror

CHEESTERTOWN, Md. – Austin Auger won three times to lead Washington (Md.) to a 106-94 victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's swimming action on Saturday.

The Shoremen (2-7, 1-4 CC) won six of the 11 events to notch their first conference win of the season.

Patrick Rogers (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) and Bryan Nuckles (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond-Suffolk Academy) paced the Green Terror (0-6, 0-6 CC) with three wins apiece, including as part of the 200 free relay.

Nick Longworth, Auger, Robby Mix and Tim Beadell teamed to open the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay, combining for a time of 1:44.52.

Auger added individual wins in the 200 IM (2:07.41) and 200 breaststroke (2:19.41) while Longworth won the 200 backstroke (2:03.13).

Rogers was victorious in the 200 free (1:50.92) and 500 free (5:11.42) for McDaniel while Nuckles added individual wins in the 50 (21.86) and 100 (49.56) free.

Nuckles time in the 50 ranks him third on the program's all-time list.

Rogers and Nuckles teamed with James Eu (Reston, Va./Hargrave Military Academy) and Joseph Odierno (Deale, Md./Southern) to win the 200 free relay in a time of 1:33.36.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Elizabethtown on Wednesday. Meet time is 6 p.m.
