Escobar nets goal for winner

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel finished the game's lone goal in the 72nd minute of a tightly-contested Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer game, defeating Washington (Md.) 1-0 on Saturday.

Raul Escobar (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) scored for the Green Terror (6-2-1, 2-2 CC), who snapped a three-game scoreless streak.

Griffin Bull led the Shoremen (3-7, 1-3 CC) with three shots.

Dominic Byerly (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) found Escobar, who was able to finish for the seventh time this season at the 71:55 mark.

Nick Over (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) made four saves for the shutout win.

Each team took nine shots on the afternoon while McDaniel finished with a slim 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

McDaniel returns to action at Washington Adventist on Wednesday. Game time is 5 p.m.
