WESTMINSTER, Md. – Gettysburg broke through for the game's lone goal in the 50th minute to top McDaniel 1-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on Wednesday.

Nick Over (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) led the Green Terror (5-2-1, 1-2 CC) with two first-half saves.

Patrick Santini led the Bullets (6-2, 2-1 CC) with the only tally of the contest.

On a restart, Lucas Weissman sent a ball to the back post that bounced off a defender's head. Santini then got his head on the ball and directed it into the upper-left corner of the net for a 1-0 lead at the 49:35 mark.

McDaniel's best opportunity came in the final nine minutes. Jacob Wells (Hanover, Pa./South Western) sent a ball across the goal that bounced off the post. Dominic Byerly (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) had the ball bounce right to him but his shot sailed just over the crossbar.

Gettysburg finished with advantages of 16-5 in shots and 11-2 in corner kicks.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Washington (Md.) on Saturday. Game time is 4 p.m.
