Calderon tallies to key McDaniel win

WESTMINSTER, Md. - McDaniel tallied twice in the game's first 21 minutes to defeat Ursinus 2-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on Saturday.

Luis Calderon (Silver Spring, Md./Bullis) scored the insurance goal for the Green Terror (7-4-3, 1-3-2 CC), who finished with a slim 17-16 edge in shots.

Ryan Murphy made seven saves for the Bears (7-6-1, 3-2-1 CC), who had a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Int he 14th minute, Edgar Escobar (Silver Spring, Md./Silverbrook) found Braendon Tock (Silver Spring, Md./Silverbrook) to take McDaniel to a 1-0 lead.

Calderon doubled the advantage nearly seven minutes later off a second Escobar helper and the defenses took over from there.

Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) made six saves for the Green Terror.

McDaniel returns to action at Johns Hopkins on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
