WESTMINSTER, Md. – Both the McDaniel and Dickinson goalkeepers came up with big saves at different points in the game to preserve a scoreless draw in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on Wednesday.
Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) made two saves for the Green Terror (6-1-3, 0-1-2 CC), including one off his finger tips that then bounced off the crossbar in the first overtime.
Reed Milbrath made five saves for the Red Devils (7-2-1, 1-1-1 CC) in the first half, including a some on shots from point-blank range in the early stages of the contest. Jeremy Palcan made three saves after halftime.
Edgar Escobar (Silber Spring, Md./Springbrook) and Shane McCracken (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) combined for 13 of McDaniel's 19 shots on the day. Escobar notched seven while McCracken had six. Both had early opportunities turned away by Milbrath or sail just wide of the pipe.
The Green Terror finished with a 19-11 advantage in shots, including 10-3 before halftime.
McDaniel returns to action at Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
