Phillips tallies first

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford scored the first two goals as part of a four-goal final 27 minutes to down McDaniel 3-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on Saturday.

Kaden Phillips (Singapore/Singapore American) scored his first goal for the Green Terror (5-9-1, 1-6 CC), finishing a Mike McClain (Takoma Park, Md./Montgomery Blair) through ball at the 83:37 mark.

Matt Gorski scored twice for the Fords (9-6, 5-2 CC), including converting a penalty kick 24 seconds after Phillips' tally to secure the win.

Dan Garfing finished at the 63:27 mark to breakup the double shutout.

Gorski pushed the lead to 2-0 in the 80th minute with an unassisted tally.

Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) made six saves for McDaniel while Andriy Mshanetskyy had three.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Johns Hopkins on Wednesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
