CHESTERTOWN, Pa. – Washington (Md.) scored a goal in each half to down McDaniel 2-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on Saturday.
Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) made six saves in net to lead the Green Terror (5-8-1, 1-5 CC), who finished the game with a slight 14-13 edge in shots.
Tyler Cabot made six saves to earn the shutout for the Shoremen (5-6, 3-3 CC), who had the edge in corner kicks, 6-5.
George Gabriel knocked in a Joseph Fili rebound in the 39th minute for a 1-0 lead.
Sam Wild converted a 1-on-1 with the keeper, finishing a play ahead by Tim Marcin in the 80th minute.
Shane McCracken (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) and Max Rutherford (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) led the offense with five and four shots, respectively.
