Nibbelink makes five saves

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Swarthmore tallied just 7:41 into the game en route to a 2-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on Saturday.

Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) made five saves to lead the Green Terror (4-6, 1-3 CC), who finished with a slim 6-5 edge in corner kicks while the Garnet (7-1-1, 3-0-1 CC) held the advantage in shots, 22-10.

Michael Stewart netted his sixth of the season, finishing the first of two Noah Sterngold assists in the eighth minute.

Sterngold found John Pontillo at the 79:39 mark to set the final margin.

Shane McCracken (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) and Mike McClain (Takoma Park, Md./Montgomery Blair) led the McDaniel offense with three shots each.

The Green Terror returns to action at Frostburg on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
