YORK, Pa. – William Paterson scored twice in the second half to overcome a 1-0 deficit and defeat McDaniel 2-1 on the second day of the Holiday Inn Conference Center Soccer Classic in men's soccer action on Sunday.
Shane McCracken (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season to pace the Green Terror (2-3), who scored on its only shot of the contest.
The Pioneers (2-2) scored twice on a peppering of 13 second-half shots. For the game, William Paterson finished with 21 shots and nine corner kicks.
After McCracken staked McDaniel to a lead off a Mike McClain (Takoma Park, Md./Montgomery Blair) assist in the 17th minute.
Dan Patton knocked in his own rebound in the 72nd minute to knot the game.
A Marcus Hackett header off a Michael Encarnacion corner kick in the 77th minute broke the deadlock.
Jack Pebole (Little Spring, N.J./Red Bank Regional) finished with five saves.
McDaniel opens the Centennial Conference schedule at home against Muhlenberg on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
