McCracken, McClain tally goals
WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel tallied a goal in each half to defeat Washington (Md.) 2-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on Saturday.
Shane McCracken (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) put the Green Terror (4-8-2, 1-5 CC) on the board en route to its first conference victory of the season.
Chris Phipps turned away 15 shots in goal for the Shoremen (3-7-2, 1-4-1 CC), who were shut out for the second straight game.
McCracken scored off his own shot and save in the 20th minute for a 1-0 lead.
Michael McClain (Takoma Park, Md./Montgomery Blair) knocked in an insurance goal in the 70th minute.
McDaniel finished with a 24-17 advantage in shots.
Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) made six saves for the Green Terror.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Haverford on Saturday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
