Nibbelink makes eight saves in goal
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus needed just about five extra minutes to record a 1-0 overtime victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on Saturday.
Sean Best (Adamstown, Md./Tuscarora) made seven saves in the second half and overtime for the Green Terror (2-4-1, 0-2 CC) in relief of Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll), who had one save in the first half in goal.
Mike Alfieri made four saves for the Bears (2-6, 1-1 CC), who finished the game with a 21-14 advantage in shots for the game, including 3-1 in the extra session.
Andrew Machalick played a ball through to Mike Cohen, who found the back of the net for the game's only goal 4:59 into the first 10-minute overtime.
Paul Jaworski (Highland, Md./River Hill) and Eddy Lingue (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) took four shots apiece for the McDaniel.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Dickinson on Wednesday. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
