Wineke leads McDaniel to win

Green Terror tallies once in each half for first conference win

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Timothy Wineke (Reisterstown, Md./North Carroll) scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Ursinus in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action on Saturday.

Mike Alfieri made seven saves for the Bears (1-6, 0-2 CC) in goal while Zach Nibbelink (Hampstead, Md./North Caroll) had two stops.

Wineke put a shot into the top-left corner off an Eddy Lingue (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) assist.

Wineke made it a two-goal game and three straight dating back to Wednesday's game with an unassisted marker into the bottom-left corner in the 69th minute.

McDaniel finished with a 14-5 advantage in shots and 3-1 edge in corner kicks.

The Green Terror returns to action at Johns Hopkins on Thursday. Game time is 7 p.m.
