McNichol has hand in three

CARLISLE, Pa. – Dickinson scored the first five goals of the game and the final four as part of a 10-3 Centennial Conference (CC) men's lacrosse victory over McDaniel on Wednesday.

Timothy McNichol (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) led the Green Terror (3-6, 0-2 CC) with two goals and an assist.

Brian Cannon paced the Red Devils (4-4, 1-0 CC) with four goals and two assists.

Back-to-back tallies from Cannon staked Dickinson to a 2-0 lead in the game's first 3:40 before the defenses took over for the next nearly nine minutes.

Tyler Llewellyn broke up the drought, finishing from Rob Kendall with 3:33 to play in the opening period before Cannon hit the back of the net 1:13 later.

Chase Phillips pushed the lead to 5-0 at the end of the first quarter.

McNichol finished a solo run with 12:22 to play in the second quarter to get McDaniel on the board before finding Patrick Serio (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) 43 seconds later to make it a 5-2 game.

Cannon then hit Llewellyn with 10:26 showing to push the lead back to three at the break.

McNichol tallied the lone goal of the third quarter, scoring with 6:20 on the clock to make it a 6-3 game.

Man-up markers from Cannon and Kendall pushed the lead to 8-3 with 7:14 to play in the final period before Will Scott and Chris Clementi wrapped up the scoring in the game's final 1:51.

Will Kroppe (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) led the defense with three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Alex Hanna (Odenton, Md./Arundel) and Alec Schunk (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) added four ground balls each.

Christian Dallmus (Acton, Mass./The Rivers School) made 14 saves for the Green Terror while Nick Baxter had 18 stops for the Red Devils, who finished with a slim 34-31 advantage in shots.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Haverford on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
