WESTMINSTER, Md. – No. 10 Salisbury scored the game's first eight goals en route to a 16-3 win over McDaniel in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday.
Pat Woglom (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) scored two goals for the Green Terror (0-3), who also got a goal and an assist from Pat Bivons (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield).
Eric Kluge recorded three goals for the Sea Gulls (3-2), who had 12 different players score a goal and 14 men tally a point.
Tyler Smith staked Salisbury to a 1-0 lead, finishing a solo run with 9:25 to play in the first quarter before Rhett DePol doubled the advantage nearly tow minutes later.
Unassisted tallies by Greg Korvin and Adam Stork pushed the lead to 4-0 before Kluge scored his first two goals 5:20 apart to open second-quarter scoring.
Wade Korvin had a goal and an assist on the next two goals before Woglom finished from Jimmy Gibbons (Galesville, Md./Southern) to break up the shutout 35 seconds before intermission.
Luke Phipps stretched the lead to 9-1 with 5:06 to play in the third quarter before Woglom tallied a man-up goal from Bivons with 1:58 left in the period.
Kluge finished this hat trick 62 seconds later, starting another 6-0 run.
Bivons broke up the run off a Jason Lawrence (Fallston, Md./Fallston) feed with 1:28 to play before Jesse Rabishaw converted man-down to set the final margin with 19 seconds left.
Salisbury finished with a 47-28 advantage in shots and 33-21 edge in ground balls.
Ryan Gillen (Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun won 12 of 22 faceoffs while Christian Dallmus (Acton, Mass./The Rivers School) made 12 saves in 47 minutes.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against York (Pa.) on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
