WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel will host the 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Mid-Atlantic Region men's lacrosse championship tournament on Saturday and Sunday at Scott S. Bair Stadium in Westminster, Md.
The top-seeded Green Terror (9-7) faces the winner of the tournament's lone first-round game between No. 4 seed Morrisville State (10-4) and No. 5 seed Medaille (8-7). The Mavericks will travel to face the Mustangs on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Medaille defeated Morrisville in the North East Athletic Conference semifinals on Saturday.
The game between McDaniel and the first-round winner will take place at 4:30 p.m.
Saturday's other semifinal is between second-seeded Marywood (9-7) and third-seeded Misericordia (11-4) at 7 p.m. or 45 minutes following the first semifinal.
The semifinal winners advance to Sunday's championship game, which will begin at 3 p.m.
The Green Terror advanced to the Centennial Conference semifinals, where they dropped an 8-4 decision top-seeded Washington. McDaniel had won five straight games before the conference tournament loss.
Brad Motley (Fallston, Md./Fallston) has keyed the late-season charge in goal, starting the last five games with a .590 save percentage and 7.84 goals-against average.
JS Duke (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) has led the charge offensively with seven goals and eight assists for a team-high 15 points during the run. He leads the team this season with 18 assists and 37 points. DJ Rickels (Forest Hill, Md./Boys Latin School of Maryland) leads the team with 32 goals and is second with 36 points.
