LANCASTER, Pa. – DJ Rickels (Forest Hill, Md./Boys Latin School of Maryland), a sophomore on the McDaniel men’s lacrosse team, has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 29-Apr. 4.
Rickels earned his second consecutive weekly honor after leading the Green Terror (5-4, 2-1 CC) to a 15-6 victory over Swarthmore on Saturday. In the game, he had a hand in more than half of McDaniel’s tallies, netting a career-high six goals to go with two assists for a career-best eight points.
Seven of his eight points, including all six goals, came during a 13-minute, 48-second span that turned a 7-4 McDaniel advantage into a 15-6 lead with 2:31 remaining in the third quarter.
For the season, he has a team-high 25 goals to go with eight assists for 33 points. He has four of McDaniel’s five game-winning goals this season and 31 ground balls.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against No. 2 Gettysburg on Wednesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
