Csejka posts lowest round in fall finale

ROYAL LAKES, Ga. – Charlie Csejka (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional) carded McDaniel's lowest round of the season in the final round of the fall, leading the squad to a 14th-place finish at the prestigious Royal Lakes Fall Invitational hosted by Olgethorpe on Saturday and Sunday.

In an 18-team field that featured 16 teams who were at least receiving votes in the latest Div. III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches' Poll, the Green Terror carded the fourth-lowest round of the second 18 holes. McDaniel posted a round of 310 on Saturday before Sunday's second round was started later in the day to beat Hurricane Nate. The teams played a total of 27 holes on Saturday before finishing on Sunday morning. The Green Terror carded a round of 290 over the final 18 holes – its lowest round of the season – to vault into 14th place for the 36-hole tournament with a score of 600. Greensboro won the tournament by four strokes with a score of 579 (284-295).

Csejka led the second-round surge with a round of 70, which was not only the freshman's lowest collegiate round but also the best round turned in by any McDaniel golfer this fall. He had a round of 76 on Saturday to finish with a score of 146 and in 19th place overall.

Brandon Vance (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) and Shawn MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn) each registered scores of 150. Vance matched Csejke with the low round on Saturday with a score of 76 before posting a round of 74 on Sunday. MacBurnie recorded a round of 77 on Saturday and 73 on Sunday to place 36th.

Collin MacDonald (Beverly, Mass./Beverly) rebounded to match MacBurnie with a score of 73 on Sunday and finish with a score of 154 to place 60th.

Kevin Keane (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) rounded out the field for McDaniel with a score of 162 (86-76) to finish 87th.

The Green Terror opens the spring at the TaylorMade adidas Intercollegiate in Beaufort, S.C. on Mar. 12-13.
