Vance fires 150 to open fall

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Brandon Vance (Worcester, Md./Methacton) posted matching rounds of 75 to lead McDaniel to a fifth-place finish at the Guy & Jeanne Kuhn Memorial Invitational hosted by Allegheny in men's golf action on Sunday and Monday.

The Green Terror posted a round of 310 over the first 18 holes before carding a score of 311 on Monday to finish with a two-day score of 621. Wittenberg, who is the defending national champion and preseason No. 2 team, won the 18-team event with a score of 605, staving off a Rensselaer charge on day two. The Engineers fired a tournament-low round of 297 on Monday to finish one shot off the lead.

Vance finished tied for 10th overall with his score of 150.

Charlie Csejka (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional) finished 33rd overall with a score of 158, firing a round of 77 on Monday after debuting with a score of 81 on Sunday.

Shawn MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn) posted the low round of the tournament for McDaniel on Sunday with a 73 before finishing with a score of 160 to place 43rd.

Christian Garruppo (Hilton Head, S.C./Hilton Head Prep) finished 50th with a score of 161 (81-80) while Kevin Keane (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) was 52nd with a score of 162 (83-79).

Maximilian Emmerich (Swampscott, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn), playing as an individual, posted the second-best score by a Green Terror golfer with a 36-hole total of 154 to place 18th. He rebounded from a score of 82 in his first collegiate round to post a score of even-par 72 on Monday.

McDaniel returns to action at the Penn State-Harrisburg Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
