Kane finishes second in third straight win

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – For the third straight invitational, McDaniel's men's golf team posted the low score. On Saturday, it was a 12-stroke victory in the Gettysburg Spring Invitational at The Bridges Golf Club.

The Green Terror combined to card a round of 310 behind a trio of 76s. Dickinson was second with a round of 322.

Alex Kane (Danvers, Mass./Masconoment Regional) was awarded second place on tiebreakers. In total, five players tied for the low round with a score of 76. Penn State-Harrisburg's Tyler Shank was awarded the individual crown on the third handicap hole.

Mike Filler (Baltimore, Md./Open Bible Christian Academy) and Steven Tanen (Laurel Hallow, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) matched Kane, carding a round of 76. Tanen did it playing as an individual.

James Lillie (Garret Park, Md./Walter Johnson) and Cody Mewhirter (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) each posted scores of 79 to finish tied for eighth.

Brian Norwitz (Germantown, Md./Northwest) rounded out the McDaniel competitors in 15th place with a round of 81.

The Green Terror returns to The Bridges next weekend, hosting its own 18-team spring invitational on Saturday and Sunday. Tee times both days begin at 8:30 a.m.
