Lillie finishes eighth

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – James Lillie (Garret Park, Md./Walter Johnson) carded a pair of matching rounds to lead McDaniel to a fifth-place finish at the Rehoboth Beach Fall Invitational hosted by University of Pennsylvania in men's golf action on Monday.

As a team, the Green Terror also posted matching scores in the morning and afternoon rounds. McDaniel posted a round of 307 in the morning and 306 in the afternoon to finish with a total of 613 at the primarily Division I tournament. The host Quakers won the one-day, 36-hole tournament with a score of 578 (296-282). The Green Terror placed in front of four Division I teams, Division II Goldey-Beacom and Division III Wesley.

Lillie posted rounds of 74 in both the morning and afternoon rounds for a total score of 148 on the par-71 Kings Creek Country Club course.

Alex Kane (Denvers, Mass./Masconomet Regional) finished tied for 13th overall with a score of 151. He posted a round of 75 in the morning and 76 in the afternoon.

Kyle Chittim (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) finished 25th with a score of 156, finishing with a 77 in the opening round and closing with a round of 79.

Cody Mewhirter (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) and Steven Tanen (Laurel Hallow, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) finished with scores of 159 and 161, respectively. Tanen followed up an 83 with a score of 78 while Mewhirter shot an 81 in morning and 78 in the afternoon.

The Green Terror returns to action at the Vulcan Invitational hosted by California (Pa.) on Saturday and Sunday.
