HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Two members of the McDaniel men's golf team have been named to the Division III PING all-region team, released by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Tuesday.
Greg Bowman (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville), a senior, made his third straight appearance on the All-Mid-Atlantic team while James Lillie (Garret Park, Md./Walter Johnson), a freshman, earned his first regional honor.
Bowman led the Green Terror this season with a 76.6 stroke average over his 22 rounds. He won three events and finished in the top 10 individually in half of the 12 events in which he competed. He also notched five top-five showings. Bowman carded a pair of 71s on the season – both of which came during his run of three straight individual crowns.
Lillie finished second on the team with a 77.7 stroke average over his 17 rounds of competition. He won the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational with a season-low 36-hole score of 146 that included a second-round score of 71, matching Bowman for the lowest round on the team this season. Lillie added six top-10 showings and a pair of top-five finishes.
The two were among 12 players honored in the Mid-Atlantic Region and one of 72 players recognized across the six regions. McDaniel was one of two Mid-Atlantic teams with multiple selections.
